🔴 HMMMMM 🔴 So after Cameroonian artiste Libianca defeats Nigerian artiste Asake to win the “Viewers Choice Best New International Act” at the BET, some Nigerians are claiming not to have ever heard her music. Libianca featured Ayra Star and Omah Lay in her widely acclaimed “People” remix. Some Nigerians are seriously living under a rock. A Libianca fan writes: “Honestly Libianca’s “People” is bigger than all Asake’s songs combined. He sings mostly in Yoruba while Libianca sings in English. You can’t compare the two, one is local and the other international.” Btw this isn’t the first time a Cameroonian is defeating a Nigerian in an International award. In 2014, Stanley Enow won the “Breakthrough Act” at the MAMAs (MTV Africa Music Awards) over Burna Boy. Safe to say history keeps repeating itself.
